Functional Analytic Psychotherapy: The 2016 FAP Intensive

June 11, 2016 - June 13, 2016

While not a Conference in name, the Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) Intensive Weekend is the central annual training event of the FAP community. This year they will be holding their Intensive weekend right before the ACBS WorldCon. This is a great opportunity to learn more about FAP, a behavioral approach to therapeutic relationships that falls under the CBS umbrella, without investing in a separate trip. From their event description: “the FAP Intensive is an annual gathering where we welcome students and professionals who are new to FAP as well as seasoned FAP practitioners, trainers and researchers to immerse ourselves in FAP theory, skills, and experiences. This year we will unveil and practice a more structured FAP model of awareness, courage and love (ACL). This model will be new to those with previous experiences in FAP and also is designed to facilitate deeper and quicker understanding of FAP for people who are starting to learn FAP, so all are invited! The ACL model includes a structured treatment manual that provides a host of new assessment strategies to develop an ACL case conceptualization around which you can organize your FAP techniques and the five FAP rules.”
