ACBS NE Chapter Training: Functional Analytic Psychotherapy

November 5, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Nate Gruner, LICSW will be giving a 90-minute free presentation on Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP).

Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP) targets interpersonal behaviors which occur in the therapy relationship that are contributing to life problems or improvements outside the therapy relationship. Cognitive behavioral therapies have generally ignored the importance of the therapeutic relationship, assuming most of the treatment change occurs within the client and not within the way the client relates to the therapist. This talk will provide an overview of FAP, case examples of it’s use, and opportunities for role-playing FAP interventions.

Join us for our year-long Chapter Training series, where members of our board will be presenting on popular topics and recent developments in the Contextual Science domain. They will all be free and open to the public. For long-time participants, please note that our location on McLean campus has changed to the Wyman building’s basement.
